Just noticed on the way home that the Delmar Haynes Pontiac GMC Jeep dealership lot on Alcoa highway is empty, the gates are locked, and trucks were hauling stuff away. The Mrs. asked someone who was leaving, and he said the dealership had closed its doors Monday. The guy said he had been working there 23 years.

They were previously notified that they had lost their Pontiac and Jeep franchises, but were hoping to continue selling and servicing GMC trucks. I guess GM dropped the bomb on what was left of them.

That's two down on the Airport Motor Mile. Neil-Sandler Ford was the first one, and that was preemptive a few months before the current crisis. Who's next?

I find this very sad. The Delmar Haynes dealership has been around quite some time. The few times I met and spoke with Delmar he was a pleasure to be around. He has some great stories. I wish him and his family the best in their future endeavors.

Next? I am concerned about Rogers Cadillac

In my opinion, the next largest lost with the fewest vehicles in place is Rogers Cadillac and they may be the next to sever their ties with GM.

You may have to drive to the Motor Mile to find your next Cadillac or you may have to roll on down to Parkside Drive, but the Cadillacs will not be sold on Kingston Pike.
