Thirty-nine Democrats across the country opposed H.R.3962, a bill "To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes." Of those thirty-nine, 22 are from the South.

According to the NYT chart, Davis, Gordon, and Tanner all have double-digit numbers of non-elderly uninsured in their districts, 17%, 14%, and 16% respectively. Is this an indication of how much they care about those they represent? How's it going with educating kids in these districts? How about unemployment?

If these guys are worried so much about the cost for the health care bill, explain to me this "small" business add-on to the unemployment benefits bill. According to Lincoln Davis, "Also, this bill allows companies that incurred losses in either 2008 or 2009 to seek refunds for taxes paid on profits during the past five years." They don't think we can afford health care for all, but we can give tax refunds to businesses.
