I'm not sure what to make of Senate Bill 0426 (Campfield/Southerland) and companion House Bill 0432 (Hill)...

It would require that each school notify parents or legal guardians in its student handbook or policy guidebook of all clubs and organizations available to students AND that the listing providing such notification should identify same by full name and any applicable acronym?

And that each club's mission should be spelled out?

And that no school would permit a student to become a member or participate in any activities of a club if the parent has prohibited it in writing?

That reference to "acronyms" stumped me...unless maybe Campfield et al are after the GLBT clubs in some schools?

If I'm right, what of the potential for higher teen suicide rates?
