The League of Women Voters held their candidate forum today. Candidates from other local house seats attended, along with Schree Pettigrew who is running for the 18th district. Campfield, the Republican incumbent and Schree's opponent, was invited and reportedly confirmed with a tentative response that he may come.
He didn't. Again, missing the chance to debate Pettigrew before a live group of voters.
No one can ding Campfield for not showing, he didn't say for sure he was coming. BUT, given the results of the last debate, one would think he would be beating down the doors to debate Schree before a live audience of voters.
So not only has Campfield avoided the first scheduled debate by claiming confusion and trickery, he altogether dismissed the chance to discuss the issues with Pettigrew at the League of Women Voters candidate forum.
If he wasn't interested in the debate, why he would post this on his blog:
Just FYI I am open to a makeup debate with my opponent/opponents almost any time previous to early voting. Just call when you feel froggy. Nuff said.
I guess debating in front of College kids is different than doing the same in front of constituent voters.
sorry for the double post, was editing when bill posted! SORRY BILL!

Campfield Not Really Interested
Campfield can't possibly be interested in debating the issues wth Schree since early voting starts tomorrow, regardless of whom he'll be debating before.

No-Show Campfield Strikes Again
How scared must this guy be? The thing with the college kids is one thing, but you just don't leave the League of Women Voters out to dry.
Folks, if you haven't already chipped in for Schree, now would be a great time to do so, and if you want to volunteer, they're still canvassing every Saturday from 10 to 2 and every Sunday from 2 to 6.
Also, if you'd like to meet Schree in person, come to Paws for Pettigrew this Sunday at 3 at the Victor Ashe Dog Park - bring your pup, meet Schree, pick up a yard sign or a phone call list and get to work.
I have just visited
I have just visited Campfield's site for the first time and I'm curious. Why the hell would anybody be interested in knowing a state representative's astrological sign, and why would a man who says the Bible is his favorite book give a rat's patoot about such pagan tripe? Do you suppose he plans his legislative activities around the daily predictions? Maybe his signs weren't in the proper alignment for a debate at this time.
Shades of Nancy Reagan!
No-show
I can't believe that someone who holds himself out for openess has ducked 2 debates now.
