The Bi-Lo on Forest Park Blvd. is closing for good on Monday. The store has been a great community asset and I always found the people there very nice and helpful. They will be missed. I thought it was going to be converted to a Southern Family Markets but Food City purchased the eight Knoxville Bi-Lo locations from SFM last month. I talked with some employees last evening when I was there and many have jobs lined up. They weren't sure what would happen to the location but one speculated maybe an Eagle's would move in. Now that would be good news for the area.

That does suck. There are a lot of elderly and handicapped people living nearby who are easily able to get there to do their grocery shopping.
Didn't you mean to say Food
Didn't you mean to say Food City?
Indeed I did. Fixed. Thanks.

I am devastated by the demise of Bi-Lo. Now where am I going to get my 4 paks of 11 oz bottle of lime flavored Perrier?
Bummer
What is Eagles?
Maybe they meant Ingles.
Maybe they meant Ingles.
Shoppers
Yes, not only are there a lot of people who have a hard time getting around in that area, but there are also students and pedestrian shoppers.
Brian A.
I'd rather be cycling.
Not Ingles. If I recall,
Not Ingles. If I recall, when they were building this center it was initially stated that an Eagles would be the tenant, then it was changed to a Bi-Lo. And, if I recall, the Eagles was supposedly more "upscale" than a Bi-Lo.
I am not sure if this "Eagles" is the same as the Giant Eagle stores of the PA-WV-MD area.
That does suck...the store
That does suck...the store hasnt been around that long has it? You would think that F City would keep it open. Everytime I have been there its always been busy...mostly UT students and the elderly who live in and around the area.
HA!
Yeah mostly students, foreign professors from Sutheland Ave Apts., and all the Scrotes from the Shyt-Hole down the road AKA Cagle Terrace Tower Apartments (The West Knox Ghetto).
Just be careful driving down sutherland while all these 'residents', each with his/her own HoverRound Electric Wheel Chair paid for by you and me (Medicare), are 'motoring' down and across Sutherland for their daily beer/cig runs..... Ahhhh, it's hard to believe Knoxville's most wealthiest live less than 1/2-mile away. It's another world on the other side of The Pike.!.!
BTW, you and I pay for the Shyt-Hole Apts too for these Scrotes.....gotta love KCDC housing!
How sad you hate the elderly
How sad you hate the elderly and disabled so much. It would be nice to put your name on a list of people to never receive assistance when you so dearly need it.
Hahaha.....still laughing.......
#1. I don't hate the elderly.
#2. I don't hate the disabled.
#3. What I DO hate are the following:
The low-lifes that take advantage of the system. The ones who sit all day long on their duffs collecting their government checks to go spend them on lottery tickets, cigs, and beer. The ones who abuse the healthcare facilities, EMS, fire/police departments, and other services around them. The ones who live in filth and dirt just out of mere laziness. The ones who disrespect all with whom they come in contact. THIS is what I hate and, again, most of these people are lumped together in these God-forsaken holes of apartments that I mentioned above and other KCDS housing.
FYI, if the above is what my future holds with my "assistance" that you will withhold from me, I will be the first to sign your recommendation.
