I love it! Lucky kids!

I grew up in the city (on the south side of Chicago in the 1940's), and I have always felt really bad for kids who live in suburban sterility, in places that have only newer homes set on small regular lots, where everyone looks and acts pretty much the same. There are so many stimulating and exciting things about being an urban brat. It was wonderful to see that picture of the new little "settlers". I hope there will be many more.

Wanted to make sure I captured this for posterity.

I don't know that Knoxville and Chicago have much in common. Knoxville's a suburban kind of town. Downtown used to be the "shopping center" and "business district". Don't know how many people actually lived in the concrete confines of the Knoxville downtown area as defined for the families in this article back in the 40's. Do know a lot of people lived on the edges of downtown in neighborhoods with small lots.
