WARSHINGTON - A controversial measure aimed at stopping attacks on the rule of law was overwhelmingly approved by librul blogofascists Thursday night. Supporters said the legislation, which amends Godwin's Law, is crucial in the war on Republican amorality and stone-cold stupidity. But some self-appointed guardians of civil discourse said it leaves the door open to abuse.
The most controversial change narrows the definition of a cheap shot, allowing "alternative methods of vituperation." While it is unclear what exactly this new standard does and does not allow, it is widely believed it will give official sanction to harsh invective and allusions to totalitarian regimes once confined to the far corners of the lefty blogosphere.
"We are not conducting a Model UN debate against a bunch of Ivy League forensics club dweebs," said librul blogger Hans Hoobentude. "We are at war against extremists who want to tear up our Constitution."
Washington Post columnist David Broder, a long-time critic of left-leaning Internet scribblers, could only sob uncontrollably when asked for comment.

Does the measure include
Does the measure include immunity for past violations? At any rate, this is great legislation that gives us another weapon in the global war on fallacy. Now we need a law authorizing warrantless comment moderation.
