The Blount County Democrats are having a hot dog picnic Saturday, July 21st, 3PM to 6PM at the pavilion at Pearson Springs Park (off Montvale Station Road).

The event is free and the public is invited. Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Gray Sasser is scheduled to attend, along with local Democratic Commissioners and Party officials.

Here's a map to Pearson Springs Park...

Can I

attend and blog the event? I will bring my own Back Yard Burger hot dog and a bottle of Deer Park water.

Wuh?

What is the point of that post, Brian? Is it a nitwitted attempt at irony?

Elrod,

I am simply asking R. Neal if a Republican (me) would be welcome to blog at and about the event.

Nothing hidden, here, there or anywhere.

Well I have no objection

But then again I'm not an official with the Blount County Dems either. I don't imagine they'd have a problem either. We don't have horns behind our ears here...

But then again I'm not an official with the Blount County Dems

Neither am I, so I'm not sure why Brian is asking me.

At any rate, it's free and open to the public, so I reckon Brian is welcome just like everybody else. And I'm guessing he can have a free hot dog and a coke, too, so no need to bring his own! And I'm guessing there won't be any "free speech zones" setup or anything.

There are always moles at these things. Heck, I went to a Corker event. It's no big deal, unless they cause a ruckus, like some of Corker's more, uh, enthusiastic young supporters did at Ford events in 06. I'm certain Brian wouldn't do that.

But I'm sure he will report back to The Borg. I imagine they're interested in whatever Sasser might have to say re. the upcoming elections and Dem strategery.

And I'm with Bill. We might convert him!

Mark Cawood

I think Democrat Mark Cawood routinely attended Powell and Karns Republican Club meetings when he served as commissioner.

(He routinely attended our Northwest Democratic Club meetings, too.)
