Blackburn steps in to stop ICE in Lebanon

Hundreds of residents turned out to the Wilson County Commission meeting Tuesday to speak against the prospect of an [ICE] immigration detention center coming to their community.

ICE is still is “interested” in property inside the [Lebanon] city limits as part of its detention center expansion plan."

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, TN, " believes that the City of Lebanon is not the right location for this [ICE] facility."

Wonder where the right location might be?

UPDATE 2/22/2026: Wilson County Mayor: ICE eyes immigrant detention ‘mega center’ in [the city limits of] Lebanon to house up to 16,000 immigrant detainees.

That would be 30% of the population of Lebanon and 10% of the population of Wilson County.

At least this means Marsha has better political instincts than the Prez. Don't know whether to say "thank goodness" or "yikes!"

Wouldn't it be nice to live in a society governed by people whose actions we rated by the the worst decisions possible? At least Martha hasn't endorsed concentrastion camps that will kill innocent people is a pretty low bar.
