Another One Bites the Dust

Tom Noe, Ohio GOP fundraiser extraordinaire, was sentenced Tuesday to 27 months in federal prison for illegally aiding and abetting the man who vowed to bring integrity back to the White House.  His excuse . . . "In 2003 I was pressured by Bush-Cheney campaign officials to become a pioneer for George Bush."

That's going to be a bit awkward.  He won't get out before the next presidential election is over.  Maybe he can raise funds in white collar stir, or get out earlier for good behavior, or wheedle a pardon.

That's it. A pioneer should surely deserve a presidential pardon.  Naw, man; not when you told the judge that George made you do it.

The way to get a Presidential pardon is honor omerta to the end. And a few contributions to the ol' Presidential Library fund don't hurt either.

At least that's how we did it in the 90's.

Two years ago he was attending parties at the White House and had the ear of Ohio's governor. A college dropout, Noe was appointed to head the Ohio Board of Regents and the Ohio Turnpike Commission; he served on a key committee of the U.S. Mint, and he helped plan and implement the strategy that helped President Bush win Ohio and the nation.

Nice. Can't say I'm surprised, tho.

What was "the strategy that helped President Bush win Ohio" anyway?
Was it too few voting machines in Democratic precincts + GOP flunkies challenging voters so the lines were interminably slow = enough turnout suppression to require tampering with only a few of the unverifiable Diebold vote tallies?

Or was that just a bad dream?
