There is a simple phrase that should drive any policy debate: "what works?"

continued...

*Cleveland Clinic
works
*IT at Omaha's Alegent Health Lakeside Hospital works
*Mayo Clinic works
*Vermont Blueprint for Health sounds great and I would like to see some data.
*Preventive medical care also sounds great but we should be pushing "healthy lifestyle" instead. Look at it this way: How many expensive and unnecessary drug tests are given to find one user? Everyone should get regular checkups, but "I'd like to buy the world a mammogram" is not going to cut it. (bringing screenings to uninsured women is working, but the key word here is " uninsured, let's work this program out of a job by providing universal coverage)
*The Committee on reviewing evidence to identify highly effective clinical services is hard at work
*The Utah health administration network has worked to streamline billing since 1993
*Long term acute care hospitals work

What else?

In his inaugural address, President Obama said "The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works ... Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end." Get back on that message, please, Prez.
