The president-elect said "he will move to end birthright citizenship — long enshrined in the 14th Amendment of the Constitution..."

Should be interesting. It's not easy to change the Constitution. Wonder what he thinks he can get away with. Or, it's just another lie.

Apparently the president-elect told lots of lies during his interview on Meet the Press this morning.

...he asserted, “We’re the only country that has it (birthright citizenship)." ... "About three dozen countries provide automatic citizenship to people born on their soil..."

he "falsely claimed, “Crime is at an all-time high."

It goes on and on.

Hitler and his Nazi regime took power in Germany on January 30,1933. Hitler promised his dictatorship was the beginning of Germany's thousand year Third Reich. On May 8, 1945, a week after Hitlers death, the Third Reich ended after 12 terrible years and over 60 million deaths caused by Hitler. Hitler came close to winning the war and changing the direction of the world away from democracy.
Trumps potential Nazi dictatorship begins January 20.Let's hope and pray that our democratic system does not fall to the Trump Nazi's. When Trump continues his treasonous actions let us pray that our Congress will have the guts to impeach, remove, and jail him and his accomplices. There is a strong possibility of a Trump dictatorship and the establishment of an autocracy that could last the rest of our lives and beyond. Sensible leaders and citizens have to do everything possible to peacefully resist and keep our democracy.

Sorry.....OK. Gotta hope for best. Maybe Collins, Murkowski, and even McConnell will help us stay in NATO, keep the ACA, and keep our democracy. Maybe the slim House majority will find it hard to get the crazy 2025 agenda passed. Maybe reconciliation can only work once a year. Maybe a few lost souls in Congress will find their way back to their senses. Maybe some way the damage can at least be minimized until the midterms and then a blue wave moves in. Maybe some unforseen acts of God changes everything for the good of all. Never give up because just when you least expect it, something good can happen. We are down, but not out. Keep fighting the good fight and never quit because our kids and grandkids and countries around the world are counting on us and we can't let them down.

I'm not stirred up or depressed, I'm just a reporter of current events who paid attention in school. I've also gotten a few threats over the past four years and I take these people at their word. Hell, I watched these bastards kill my seven year old neighbor. Why would I think they've changed their ways? I've already been blackballed from bridge. Their next move against me will probably have to come after the inauguration and I plan on hiding out and turning the battle over to the folks that don't think facism has to be that bad. I wouldn't mind moving to a free country, but I don't want to leave my kids.

I cannot blame many Americans for being discouraged by the lies and evil ways of the wannabe dictator and wanting to move to Canada or Switzerland. I can understand someone being scared by the anti-democratic actions of an unqualified buffoon leading our country. I would not blame someone wanting to move to a country with a strong democracy and an honorable leader. But, I have kids and grandkids and family that want a future here and no way I could leave them. I will continue to support Democrats that resist Trump. I will also be dismissive of those that voted for Trump because they have shown their ignorance and racist ways and do not deserve respect for their political views.

Most of us have someone in our family that has served in the military and sacrificed a great deal for our country. Some have been wounded in combat or given their lives for our country. My parents were part of the Greatest Generation that sacrificed immensely and survived the Great Depression and WWII. My dad served in the navy during WWII. He was severely injured and disabled during his service to our country. I owe it to them to speak out and resist Trump's efforts to dismantle our democracy.

We have made great progress in civil rights and human rights and equality over the past several decades. There is no way we should give those rights away and go backwards. Too many people have sacrificed and given their lives for our democracy. Democracy will take a big hit during the next four years but we cannot let the Putin loving Trump succeed with installing his fascist ideology on our country. We owe it to all those who sacrificed over the years to make the United States a model for democracy. All of the people that stood up for decency and honor and voted for Kamala Harris and rejected the racist and evil wannabe dictator need to keep up the good fight. Our democracy and the future of everyone depends on us.

However, there is animosity toward my work that may well turn into some sort of retribution. Might be a good idea for people like me to go underground a while. We must live to fight another day. Hopefully our youth will heerd this call to revolution, but at the rate they vote, I'm not real hopeful. Underground is good. Save yourself.

Am reading a book from 1993 talking about 2024 in a United States with no rain for years, ineffective government, walls protecting some and the mentally and physically disabled and poor being robbed and beaten in the streets, and guns everywhere.
