SNL appeared to diss both Democratic candidates in this Feb. 13, 2016, skit.

They make Hillary look silly. But, the dialogue makes fun of millenials.

"Hillary has everything I want in a president, but... She's no Bernie!"

"I mean, I like Hillary's foreign policy experience, but I love Bernie's whole vibe."

Do millenials even watch SNL?

Do millenials even watch SNL?

I have to admit I haven't watched it in a long time. I saw this on one of the news channels.

Like everyone else, they will

Like everyone else, they will selectively remember the best sketches from the current cast and lament that later seasons are so lame by comparison.

great satire

Kate McKinnon captures the Hillary's manic desperation perfectly. Like showing the whites of her eyes. The insane smile. The cadence of her voice. Are millennials even home at 11:30 pm on a Saturday night? They probably think SNL is like Hee Haw for their great grandparents.

Are [the kids these days]

Are [the kids these days] even home at 11:30 pm on a Saturday night? They probably think SNL is like Hee Haw for their great grandparents.

This is exactly the question that was asked when Lorne Michaels first went to NBC and pitched a live, Saturday night show for the 'Not Ready for Prime Time Players.' They all assumed the answer was that no, the kids aren't home on Saturday night, but who cares, because nobody is watching anything at that time anyway, so do whatever you want. Turns out they were home and they did watch.

That question is even more meaningless now, because if they're not home, they can watch later, whenever they want, just like you did when you clicked the YouTube link in this thread. SNL is like the pop music of comedy TV. Everyone thinks it's awful and irrelevant until a decade or two later, when they're reminiscing over the awesome 'best of' collection from their youth.

It is also about the music

Young generations will continue to watch SNL for the music and guests that cater to their age group. Perfect example Selena Gomez.A young millennial herself. Was the music guest a couple weeks ago.

the skit lacked realism

What??? In that SNL sketch there are four millennials sitting at a table and not a one of them was staring at their smart phone. Unrealistic, no? How can a millenial pay attention to a 90 minute SNL show when they have the attention span of a fly (simply my observation, not based on any scientific study comparing a fly and a member of the "me me me" generation).
