It was a lousy day to be transporting a rescue what with storms and rain in buckets but we took this little boy home.

Kimbo (aka Nitro)

continued...

This is Kimbo, aka Nitro and he's only eighteen weeks old.

Somehow his right rear paw was injured and his owner tried to treat it himself. He wrapped it too tightly cutting off circulation and the leg died. When the vet informed him that the leg had to come off, he said he couldn't afford the cost and would they just euthanize him.

Absolutely not!

Fortunately Susan Campbell with Southern States Rescued Rottweilers has scattered business cards all over Clarksville so the vet knew who to call.

The day after his surgery he was almost as mobile as any other puppy and Susan's big Mac, who has been deemed too aggressive for adoption, took it on himself to be his big brother and watch over him. He came with Susan to the transfer point this morning in Crossville where we all got soaked.

He's headed for Johnson City right now and a meeting with his new family who will take him to Walnut Cove, North Carolina.

A fine day's work.

This is the photo Susan sent as we were organizing Kimbo's transport. Now who could resist those eyes?

Nitro Update

Our little Nitro is now in his forever home. He and his Mastiff big brother are already best of friends.

Here he is on the final leg of his homecoming.
