A censure (sometimes referred to as condemnation or denouncement) does not remove the president from office. It is a formal statement of disapproval, however, that can have a powerful psychological effect on the president and his relationships. Of course, this president may wear it as a badge of honor. The only president to be censured was Andrew Jackson.
As most everyone knows, the president told "‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe" to "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."
Of the four women it is believed the president is referring, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez was born in the Bronx. Ms. Pressley, was born in Cincinnati and raised in Chicago. And Ms. Tlaib was born in Detroit.
The president continued his hate speech and doubles down, "If you’re not happy in the U.S., if you’re complaining all the time, you can leave, you can leave right now,” he said."
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is looking to counter the president's comments legislatively by introducing a resolution to officially condemn Mr. Trump's remarks.
I commend the Speaker for considering a resolution, but it is not enough. It is time to censure the president. He is putting many of our citizens at risk. Is it domestic terrorism? I don't know. But, it is endangering our country and must stop.

maybe if pelosi
maybe if pelosi and her functionaries hadn't been attacking AOC all week (even fist bumping white nationalist tim burchett)
maybe if they hadn't been fighting tooth and nail for their donor-class clients against these congresswomen's progressive initiatives since dems gained the house majority
maybe if many dems hadn't joined the reactionary chorus hurling bad faith accusations of anti-semitsm at rep. ilhan omar for daring to criticize the actions of the israel's apartheid government
then maybe we wouldn't see the president joining the liberal pile-on and adding his own nativist spin to the left-punching, pro-apartheid attacks dem leadership have been consistently launching against these women
then just *maybe* we wouldn't have to navel-gaze about the possibility of dem leadership being *so brave* as to consider performing a symbolic action condemning the president *joining their attacks* on the congresswomen in a manner that they find distasteful
a symbolic action that will have absolutely no effect on the current demarcation of (exercised) political power.

"If you’re not happy in the U.S., if you’re complaining all the time, you can leave, you can leave right now,” he said."
So it seems he doesn't practice what he preaches! He sure complained a lot while Obama was in office and i don't see how he can tell someone else to go back to where they came from considering his German and Scottish heritage isn't exactly deeply rooted here in the US itself.

Congress should put aside
Congress should put aside their partisan and ideological differences for a few minutes and come together to defend their own members and their institution by condemning Trump's behavior.
Thank you
I agree with Mr. and Mrs. Condemning and censuring the pResident is the right thing to do.
Condemn my ass! If Pelosi
Condemn my ass! If Pelosi was concerned about anything but her laughable legacy and the value of her investment portfolio, impeachment proceedings would have already made it through the house. Wilfully and knowingly endangering the lives of any citizen does IMNSHO rise to the level of high crimes. Add in the fact that he is using that endangerment as a means of intimidation to achieve political goals meant to benefit wealthy whites exclusively and you easily have sufficient reason to impeach.
Pelosi is going to be the lone live soldier on a vast battlefield covered with death. Her nation will be conquered and a new language will be spoken. She will have nothing left but the powder she so meticulously kept dry waiting for the right opportunity.
And thank you

I agree impeachment is past due.
Censure him and it just might
Censure him and it just might show up in a Trump 2020 campaign commerciak. Just cuz you, the media, and Romney are outraged (again) doesn't mean everyone else is.

Funny, there appears to be nearly universal outrage. Except from Republicans. Either they agree or they are afraid of Trump. Neither is a very good look.
The sad thing is instead of
(in reply to R. Neal)
The sad thing is instead of attacking a man that is corrupt and deserves to be in jail, Republicans and others turn to blaming good and honorable people like Nancy Pelosi. We would be much better off if Pelosi were President instead of Trump. Pelosi has worked for good causes all of her life. Trump has been a corrupt loser all of his life. Watching the video of Trump and Epstein exploiting girls and women makes me sick. I would not be surprised to find out Trump had been involved in sex trafficking with Epstein. Trump supporters should be ashamed for defending a sick, twisted and evil man. They are in denial. Hopefully the immoral and corrupt President they support will go to jail where he belongs. All good and decent Americans should be outraged by Trump's behavior. They should resist and fight for his removal, conviction, and punishment.

He is an embarrassment to his parents. He has sold out and put politics above principle and revealed his true colors. I was hoping he would show some courage and stand up against the racism and corruption of Trump. Instead, he has solidified his reputation as a big Trump supporter and has become one of the biggest losers!
Re: Censure
Heather Caygle / Politico tweeted yesterday:
the house dem majority has absolutely no willingness or interest in wielding political power.
but the caucus chair is still tweeting about “MUELLER TIME” in July 2019, so there’s that.
Political power means nothing without action
especially when dealing with a malignant narcissist who has zero sense of restraint. Compare Trump's record (destruction of post-war security architecture, Paris accords, Iran) as POTUS without a mandate and popular vote loss of over 3 million vs what Obama did with a mandate and a comfortable popular vote margin. Witness the path McConnell has chosen, hear Biden's noises about returning to normal.
What we are seeing now is a fairly competent publicist/politician in Trump running circles around Democratic leadership. He continues to control the narrative even in the face of ostensible mistakes and a blistering report which is the political equivalent of baby food that the Democrats have somehow turned into baked Alaska, or instead of a hand-off it's become having to win the game on a kick-off return with 4 seconds left on the clock.
Imagine an impeachment inquiry.
