Downtown accounting firm moving west
Coulter & Justus president Sam Coulter said the firm is out of space at its current home, in Gay Street's Riverview Tower, and that it seemed like a good financial move to own its own building.

Do you really trust an
Do you really trust an accounting firm that believes this is a good time to buy real estate?
Pugh & Company Move to Cedar Bluff 10 years ago
The folks from Lattimore Black are in Bearden across the parking lot from the State Comptroller's Office here in Knoxville. Pershing & Yokely aren't downtown and PriceWaterhouse is way out West. There really isn't a business justification for an accounting firm being downtown unless the office space is real cheap. Even the banks have primary regional offices away from downtown now.
A great time to buy real estate!
The real estate market is in a serious downturn, less locally than nationally, but still down. That translates into now being a wonderful time to buy and a truly lousy time to sell. Buy low. Sell high. Works for every market - even cattle futures.

...name that movie... :)
And that movie would be ...
"Trading Places" with Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy...

And they are now going to consolidate further west out of Cedar Bluff Rd. on Cross Park Dr. The location in Bearden is the former McWilliams and Co. LB bought them out not long ago.

No, LBMC had offices on Cross Park Dr. at Cedar Bluff, while McWilliams was in Bearden. Since they've merged, they've begun to occupy an office at Century Park off of Dutchtown Rd. parallel to Pellissippi Pkwy.
You are correct, my mistake.
You are correct, my mistake. I should have looked at the address I have for them.
My real point was that LB has moved even further west.
interesting trend. Perhaps
interesting trend. Perhaps this indicates:
downtownistas are smarter and do more of their own accounting than suburbanites;
downtownistas are using Quickbooks instead;
downtownistas don't keep good books; (see city/county building)
tax returns are for wussies?
Seriously, though, even some of the (local) big accounting firms are automating to the point you can't get anyone on the phone anymore.
