Wow, one commenter on my Knoxville News Sentinel column today just set a record for most factual errors in a reply post. He wrote:
"Here is a guy that ran for Congress in TX and lost in the primary [False, I won the primary easily] and was a Knox County Commissioner who won because the incumbent was retiring [False, I defeated the actively campaigning incumbent] ...he is retiring soon" [False, no plans for retirement for many years]. The rest of the post is more personal attack, mostly using the gripe site ratemyprofessor and avoiding good data like Google Scholar and ignoring two national teaching awards.
Friends, feel free to set the record straight on KNS and elsewhere.

Must be a Trump supporter.
Must be a Trump supporter. The truth is irrelevant.
Journalistic integrity and accuracy left the KNS decades ago
Harry "MudCat" Moskos was the last KNS editor that had any measurable journalistic integrity, news judgment, or focus on accuracy and detail within newsprint. Unfortunately, he threw it all away after his son was arrested for DUI and not give a courtesy pass by the Sheriff's Department and after that he spend the better part of a decade trying to bring Sheriff Hutchison and the department down, essentially bolstering the Sheriff's popularity and initiating the KNS's slow decline into mediocrity and settlement as an amateur journalist playground.
The roster of publisher and editors Scripps threw into the KNS was nothing short of putting their most feeble journalistic minds and print boobs out to pasture at a daily rag in Knoxville, Tennessee.
I gave up on the KNS long
I gave up on the KNS long ago. Too many lies as "facts" they're only too happy to leave in letters to the editor. If they happen to reflect the KNS editorial view, well gee, it's only a reader's unfettered voice.
"Here is a guy that..." This one bothers me every time. How about a guy who?
