It's been a long time coming, and the road has been rocky, but Tesla production car #1 has been delivered to company chairman Elon Musk. Photos at link to Treehugger.

There's still a long journey ahead for Telsa to become successful and toward making plug-in electric vehicles practical, but this is a major milestone. Congratulations to Tesla and to its former employees who helped realize this achievement!

Oh man!

I just wish I could afford one of those.

This is the future of autos.

Now someone needs to deliver my flying car.

I'm not sure that I would

I'm not sure that I would call that a "production" model until they have delivered 5 or 10 of them. Or at least have that many sitting around waiting to be bought. If one is all there is, it is still a custom.

That said, yes this is exciting and I would be happy to own one. (Except of course, like clothes, airplane seats, toilets and anything that says "one size fits all", it is most likely far to small for me.

I have been rummaging

I have been rummaging through my old set of National Geographic Magazines on CD's and came across this ad for the Ohio Electric from a 1916 issue.

Imagine where the technology could have been today had it been pursued.

WANT ONE....

WANT ONE!!!! Too bad I'm poorer than a churchmouse. When I open my wallet...even the dead flies are wearing hand-me-downs.
