Just back from Food City!
Had to buy the premium brand of milk, 'cause the cheap stuff was out! Hurry, folks!

I have visited Lorianne DiSabato's Hoarded Ordinaries site in New Hampshire for several years now. A couple of days ago she put up a nice snowy slide show. Maybe y'all need a fix.
Hopefully we can also shoot a few nice pics in the next couple of days.

Great pics! I could handle a snow like that for two days tops.
Question, one of the pictures shows a car with the windshield wipers sticking up in the air. Is this something they do in areas that snow alot or are very cold? Why? Do the windshield wipers stick to the windshield and break or something?

So I suppose we're to believe that all those cars sliding off the highways in the midwest (shown on the news) when it snows are driven by...transplanted Southerners?
Wow, Gary, you nailed me there
My thesis that there were no bad drivers in the Midwest is blown out of the water.
But, wait a second, that's not what I said, was it?
My "yawn" was meant to indicate that I'm not in a tizzy over the prospect of a few inches of snow, and I bet many natives of the South feel the same way.
The local news will be alarmist, and a few shoppers will buy 6 gallons of milk out of fear that they'll be shut in for a month, but most of us, I posit, have the sense to scrounge a meal out of what we've got in the fridge, curl up with a good book or movie, and chill out.
If you want to go slide all over the roads, you're welcome to.

Actually, having gone several years without a decent snow, I think a lot of people are probably a little excited that we might get some snow.
You're right about the media, of course that's the media these days. Today "Will It Snow!?" Tomorrow, "Will Brittney Get Custody!?" If television news isn't breaking it, it kind of loses its reason for existing.
As far as sliding on the roads goes, no thanks. It's dangerous enough out there in the middle of May.
Be Prepared
I suppose Nelle wouldn't fully appreciate the Emergency Shelf in my kitchen pantry, either (it's labeled with a sign on an index card for the kids).
Along with the milk, I picked up a second box of kitchen matches.

I wonder if anybody stopped by MacKay's or Blockbuster to get some books or DVDs to ward off cabin fever.
Hope springs eternal.

I have been converting some of the David Suchet Hercule Poirot mysteries to iPod video. These things are great to watch in bed late at night or when you have to sit in a doctor's waiting area as I did for a while today.
I also got a bargain on four Bill Bryson ebooks a few days ago so I'm ready.

This morning they were expecting it to stop by 5AM or 6AM. Looks like they've revised it.
Hopefully there'll be enough to be pretty. Seems like that without snow in the winter, we get cheated out of one of our four seasons.

again (thankfully). I'm at work right now and it's raining. Been raining ever since I left Powell at 11:45PM.
I work one of those jobs that I have to be relieved to go home. If the refief can't make it, I'm stuck. For that reason only, I hope it never snows again. Well, at least for the nest 22 months, then I'll be retired.

One of my pet peeves is the self stroking that goes on with the local weather folks about how awesome and advanced their radar and whatnot is, but they continally blow it when it comes to predicting snow.
