I don't get

Well, when I come to
Well, when I come to Knoxville (quite frequently, I have an office there) it seems that the Titans are considered 'persona non grata', even resented by some folks. UT Football is the God there, and that God is a jealous God. (Of course that's just IMHO, and a generalized overview from someone from Arizona, and not 'used to' the dynamics of this state's college football scene).
And, in Nashville, while UT fans are everpresent, they are not ascendent. Some remarks do follow UT paraphernalia, especially at LP field, on gameday.
NOT that there's anything WRONG with it...
;D
Perhaps you could consider another forum
Davidson Views, maybe?
LP Field? I thought you were talking vinyl albums, or something.
Ah, BB,
You want to take your game balls and go home?
I found this tranquil setting through the intertubes; surely you realize you aren't isolated in your views?
The world grows smaller every day..neighbor...
Naw, I AM home.Perhaps your
Naw, I AM home.
Perhaps your humor just doesn't translate well?
Seriously, among those who think about those things, there is a lingering hostility toward the Titans because it is a Nashville team that was forcefed to the rest of the state. A PR guy who came here to "sell"Knoxville on the Oilers, as they were then known, explained that the Vols were "a blue collar phenomenon," while the Oilers were much higher class. Didn't go over well. Neither did the state referendum enabling Nashville to impose a sales tax increase to finance moving the team here from Texas (I think that's how it came down-- it's getting fuzzy). Bud Adams pulling up to the War Memorial Building Plaza in a limousine that he left in a no-parking zone didn't help, either.
But over the years, the resentment has been mitigated somewhat by spirited marketing and a couple of winning seasons. Overall, however, judging by the guys to whom I am related who spend their Sunday afternoons planted in recliners watching the NFL, there are a lotta Colts fans around here.
I do have one brother who follows the titans, though -- except when they're playing the Colts.
Oh. Well, the picture
Oh. Well, the picture doesn't tell the story.

Andy, let me fix it...
You're right, it didn't exacty work, unless it was viewed in te context of my entire post...

Let's try this?

No.
"Well, when I come to Knoxville (quite frequently, I have an office there) it seems that the Titans are considered 'persona non grata', even resented by some folks. UT Football is the God there, and that God is a jealous God."
Nope, there isn't anything wrong with that.

I'd rather be cycling.
The new UT fans at LP Field
The newest UT fans at LP Field are University of Texas fans, coming in from Houston to watch Vince Young (the only QB in the AFC South who won a National Championship, BTW). Just check out John McClain's blog after Vince Young Stabbed Houston... (link...)
That's why Tennessee fans should be grinnin'. There is a rivalry that's split Houston right down the middle...their favorite son, not drafted by the Texans, stolen away by Bud Adams, who comes back to rip them twice a year...it's fun to watch!
Anyways, Peyton made a comment a couple years ago to his rabid UT fans to get a life, and support the Home Team, the Titans...he kind of turned you guys loose, huh? Actually, I was more of a Tee Martin fan, he's the one who won the National Championship. And there was that rectum-exposing thing in the locker room...hmmph.
And if Boise State played UT today? My money would be on Boise...
And then there's my other
And then there's my other brother, who calls 'em the Nashville Oilers. This is not Tennessee's team, any more than the damn Predators (who have some kind of a deal with Fox SS preempting every other kind of coverage in the state when they are playing) are. I doubt Houston's internal rivalries interest him any more than they do me.
Rectum-exposing? Seems like you'd be a fan of that, since it's what you come to this forum to do.
Oh, come on BB, you seem a
Oh, come on BB, you seem a little...prick-ly.
Predators...oh yeah, Ice Hockey. Isn't that the game where grown men with sticks scoot around waiting for a chance to start boxing? I have to pass on that action. Almost rather watch basketball...but not quite.
College-level football is second-best. The BCS nightmare proves that. Boise State should be in a National Championship game. I'm pulling for Florida to win next Monday, to help prove that.
And for Spurrier to be the next Vols coach...
Spurrier? Nah. Grudin.
Spurrier?
Nah.
Grudin.
