Adult With Aspergers
I am an adult who grew up in a time when Aspergers was not even known about let alone some sort of problem for us. I had a average life although I was well into my adult life when I was finally given the technical terms for my problem. I had led a wonderful life, I am now on my second marriage because my first wife after 30+ years upon hearing my problem decided I was not worth it anymore. My wife now is very loving and ultra supporting, I have a 19 year old stepdaughter which is the world to me, I also have three other grown adult children who do not accept me or my problems.
I grew up and was treated the same as my other siblings, I have over 7 years of college, and work in the electrical engineering field. My only real problem that keeps me from progression is my inability to pass a written test.
If I can help drop me a line.
Adult Son with Aspergers

Adult son in law with aspergers
Do you live in the Knoxville, Tn area? My daughter and son in law live in Sweetwater. They have 2 young sons, the older one has been officially diagnosed with Aspergers and gets special help at school. But my son in law is having a terrible time, finding and keeping a job, and we all suspect that he has adult Aspergers. He is very intelligent, but has difficulty relating to others in the workplace. He desperately wants and needs help, but does not have any idea where to go or how to go about finding any. Do you have any suggestions? At this point, he has been without any real work for almost 2 years. Temp agencies will hire him for a couple of weeks or so and then let him go, telling him that he is not "a good fit" --please contact me. Thank you for your time in this regard.
Sincerely,
Karen Hedrick

You need to contact your insurance provider first to find out which local psychiatrists are in-network. Then, call the local Mental Health Association to match your choices with the doctors' specialties. They have a very complete database.
If that doesn't work, email me directly.
