Howdy Ya'll

I'm a former teacher turned PhD. candidate [ & die-hard Tennessean ] at UT. I've just launched a blog as both a medium for my research in social theory and a teaching tool that will feature posts from local academic types and activists on current issues through an education lens.

I just came over here to KnoxViews to see what was going on in the local blog scence when I came across this post about a 'bloggerfest'. I'm excited to see such an active community is alive and well here in the Valley! If I can get out of my plans, I'll drop by Barley's tonight. Where can I find you guys?

So far it looks like about 15-20 people are coming, so it looks like the Old City is in for blogging blowout! (I adore alliteration!)

I'm looking forward to meeting everybody, and hoping to reconnect with some old familiar faces.
