No snow here. Still about 38 degrees over here, so all we're getting is relentless, miserable cold rain. I'd guess about 1.5 to 2 inches by now. Would have been at least a foot of snow if it were colder.

The NWS is still bravely predicting snow, but I'm beginning to wonder. (Sometimes I like to be wrong, though.) Apparently there's lots up in the mountains. Most of the roads up there are closed. I heard Asheville has nearly 5 inches.

Everybody in Blount Co. was out on the roads or in the stores today. Never seen so much traffic or the parking lots so full. The threat of snow is at least good for business.

UPDATE: @7:15PM we're starting to get a little snow mix...

UPDATE: at 8:30AM Saturday, no snow and the sky is clearing.

Snow reports

Some big snow flakes were arriving on the scene in Oak Ridge around 3:30 p.m. as I was leaving a meeting there and heading back to Knoxville.

Still just rain here in

Still just rain here in Karns.  About 2 PM I noticed some big soupy raindrops hitting the windshield when Lulu and I ran out for bread and kibbles and milk.

I've been listening to the Anderson County Sheriff's dispatcher and they are getting really busy working wrecks.  I don't listen to Knox County, their trunk system is noisy and a pain in the backside to follow.

@7:30PM we're getting some

@7:30PM we're getting some wintery mix with enough snow and ice and slush to stick to stuff. We're only down to about 34 degrees, but it could happen...

I think that if I could

I think that if I could always bet the under on snowfall forecasts, I'd be a richer person.

I'd rather be cycling.
