HEAVY SNOWFALL POSSIBLE FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY... THE WESTERN EXTENT OF A LARGE AREA OF PRECIPITATION WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY. THE RAIN WILL BECOME MIXED WITH SNOW FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND BECOME ALL SNOW BY FRIDAY NIGHT. HEAVY SNOWFALL IS POSSIBLE FRIDAY NIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY... AND SOME LIGHTER SNOW ACCUMULATIONS COULD ALSO AFFECT AREAS OUTSIDE OF THE WINTER STORM WATCH AND WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY AREAS. LIGHT SNOW MAY LINGER FROM SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY OVER SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA AND NORTHEAST TENNESSEE. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM FRIDAY TO 7 PM EST SATURDAY...

UPDATE: Latest advisory now includes the following areas: Scott, Campbell, Claiborne, Morgan, Anderson, Union, Grainger, Hamblen, Northwest Cocke, Roane, Loudon, Knox, Jefferson, NW Blount, North Sevier, Sequatchie, Bledsoe, Southeast Monroe, Marion, East Polk. Rain changing to snow late this afternoon, with accumulations of 1 to 4 inches possible by Saturday afternoon. The current advisory is in effect from 4PM today through 7PM Saturday.

UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning issued for higher elevations, heavy snow with accumulation of 5 to 10 inches possible.

UPDATE: Heavy snow already reported in higher elevations, 441 closed across the mountains.
