How many

How many conference/convention centers would that give us?

I believe if some decision makers just geared down meetings, traveling for this and that, etc and spent some significant time at the basic level of the area, university, etc., some different decisions would be made.

university center

Do you think this is related to the rumors that they are tearing down the university center soon? I cannot imagine how it would be convenient for campus people to have to cross the bridge to replicate the uses of the UC, which sound like the uses listed in the small survey, but who knows what consultants think is wise?

You gotta love Knoxville

You gotta love Knoxville politics. As soon as the Holiday Inn changes hands the powers that be are willing to make a payout to upgrade it.

a hotel and conference center as part of a proposed master-planned development at the Cherokee Farm campus

I guess UT doesn't want to show off their campus. Visitors stopping at the Cherokee Farm campus may never get there. UT is so full of it. Next they'll be tearing down the conference center on Henley. I'm sure it has fallen in to such disrepair it isn't worth fixing like so many other things owned by UT.
