The Knoxville News Sentinel has created an online property appraisal database where you can look up any property and see the old v. the new appraisals.

The ones we checked were all up more than 60% except one, which was down 8%. That one had its land value decreased, and just happens to be in the eminent domain path of the South Waterfront project.

RELATED: KNS article about the database.

It worked for me. A stroll up the street shows some houses went up as much as 35% and others as little as .3% yet it is hard to understand the whys and hows on this.

Wacky percentages.....

Wacky percentages..... increase of 145K to 175K is 23%, while increase of 143K to 173K showed as 8%. Every home on my street had the value of the land go from 10K to 30K. EVERY SINGLE ONE!

Tess - just put in your street name, nothing else. It will pull them all up...
