Unions are endoring the
Unions are endoring the Democrat? Now THAT'S news!
Union endorsement
FYi, unions have most always endorsed Democratic candidates. Why? Because they realize that the Democratic Party shares their goals and objectives...good jobs with decent salaries, benefits, and safety and security protection in the workplace.
Further, the Democratic Party created decent wage and hour laws, pay for working overtime, a 40 hour workweek and child labor laws to protect children in this country.
The GOP is the party of corporate greed, protecting employers who want to exploit workers. Examples are: Massey Coal in WV, a foreign own coal corporation, denied workers access to join a union, committed 120+ safety violations in one mine which directly caused the deaths of 29 miners. Or BP, the Oil giant that has so far refused to pay the families of those lost in the Gulf explosion, a decent settlement of their loss.
So, yeah labor unions have supported the Democratic Party, and we welcome their help!
child labor laws
i believe you're correct, mary. this was a long process that "culminated in the passage of the Fair Labor Standards Act in 1938, which set federal standards for child labor."
Hate to educate a lost soul
Hate to educate a lost soul but it was Republican Teddy Roosevelt (Child labor,+) and Richard Nixon (OSHA,+)who did most of that.

So educate us oh smart brazen one. Explain and justify your statement.
I don't think the Rs even
I don't think the Rs even claim Teddy any more. Well, maybe the neocons.
