Hillary prefers McCain to Obama.

"Hillary Clinton told reporters that both she and the presumptive Republican nominee John McCain offer the experience to be ready to tackle any crisis facing the country under their watch, but Barack Obama simply offers more rhetoric.

“I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say,” she said. “He’s never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002.”

Clinton was referring to Obama’s anti-war speech he delivered in Chicago before entering the United States Senate."

Obama says she's part of the Washington establishment; she says he's inexperienced.

Obama's almost surely going to get the nomination. And her vigorous support of him this fall would be very helpful. But she just threw her support to his opponent on Obama's biggest weakness.

And anybody who think she won't be out campaigning vigourously for Obama this fall is just nuts.

BTW, suppose Hillary was the one involved in the brouhaha with the Canadian govt on NAFTA. Would we be hearing howls from Obama supporters? Be honest, now.

While acknowledging McCain longevity in the U.S. Senate, I somewhat puzzled about Senator Clinton experience in public office other than 3 years or so more experience as a U.S. Senator than Senator Obama. Unless you are talking about her experience as President Clintons wife for the 8 years he was POTUS, the failed universal healthcare proposal, travelgate, whitewater, etc.

I still don't get this argument? Do you people believe all these talking points?

Just because my wife has worked the front office of my dental practice for 12 years, doesn't mean she's qualified to do a root canal.

Years in elected public office:
Obama: 11 years
Hillary: 6 years

I know I wasn't there but Abraham Lincoln was in elected office for 2 years before becoming president and he seemed to have done some fairly positive things for this country...

Obama's time in the Illinois legislature, coupled with his Senate time gives him more elected official experience than Hillary has.

Obama was first elected to public office in '97. Hillary in '01

Rachel, none of these candidates are Ivory Soap pure. But Hillary's campaign went nuclear on Obama weeks, maybe months, ago. It was Clinton supporters who unleashed the specter of "islamofacism" by releasing the earliest "Barack Housein Obama" emails (in New hampshire) and robocalls (in Nevada).

And it's Hillary who has been talking about Obama's ties to Tony Rezco every time she gets a chance.

If Obama has brought up, say, Norman Hsu ((link...)), or Marc Rich ((link...)), I haven't seen it.

When Clinton's people say they're employing a "kitchen sink" strategy, they aren't thinking about cleaning out the garbage disposal. They better think about what's fixing to blow back in their faces.

I believe I asked about NAFTA and the Canadian govt. Nice misdirection there, but no answer to my question.

If a memo had been found basically saying that the Canadian govt didn't need to worry about what Hillary said about NAFTA, Obama supporters would be squealing like stuck pigs. Wouldn't you?

Interestingly, I haven't heard Hillary supporters talk about it much - at least on here or on the blab.

And come on Bean - you're describing Hillary's campaign as nuclear? You've been around the block enough times to know what real nuclear looks like.

Anyway, I'm mostly just messing with ya'll. I'm pretty much to the point where I don't care who wins as long as it's not McCain.

Starting with the prime-time, 2-hour long mauling perpetrated by Brian Williams and Tim Russert during the debate in October 2007, I'd say that Obama has gotten a relative pass up until that Hobbs stuff went national last week.
