Allergy Issues
The President Elect said he would prefer a shelter dog, but the family has allergy issues. The choices are based on that.
portuguese golden water doodle
I have a portuguese golden water doodle. At least that is what I call her. Her mother is a golden doodle (half golden retriever and half poodle) and her father is a portuguese water dog. It is the best of both worlds. If I could speak to the O'bama family, I would encourage that combination. It is the best of both worlds. She is smart, beautiful, and has an incrediably gentle temperment. She still has a bouncy puppy quality I love so much.
In other words, a mutt!
In other words, a mutt! But, your dog sounds great!
How hard do you think it is
Shouldn't be that hard. I imagine occupants of the White House do have some help doing things from time to time.
Do White House pups have a
Do White House pups have a Secret Service detail? Do they get to clean up the poop in the Rose Garden?
I don't think this falls
I don't think this falls under the responsibility of the Secret Service.
In the past, these types of messes are the responsibility of the attorney general, the President's legal counsel, and the press secretary. This group has also been known as "the bucket brigade," which would indicate that past presidents either have had kennels in the White House or really big dogs.
The Whitehouse has been full
The Whitehouse has been full of crap for the last eight years. Why would some nice clean puppy poop be aproblem?
Yellow Labradoodle
It can't be that hard to find a great dog... plenty at the poo-mix rescue site. I imagine the Obama kids would want a puppy though...
Like this one:

"Woody" is very handsome too.
I'm not that familiar with
I'm not that familiar with the White House living quarters. How hard do you think it is to get outside to grass so a pup can do it's business during training?
I'm with redmondkr & Terry
I'm with redmondkr & Terry Troll. It should simply be a dawg from a shelter. If there is a shelter somewhere with the breed they prefer, then maybe they can hook up & everybody will be happy. The ultimate choice may reveal something about the O'Bama family. I'm getting anxious for a decision.
I'm with redmondkr & Terry
Yep. That'll be the standard by which I'll judge 'em.
I say its a failed presidency.
A Labradoodle? Sounds like
A Labradoodle?
Sounds like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.
I've always liked mutts, but it's always hard for me to pick one at the shelter when I'd like to pick them all.
Does not matter as long ...
as it is a shelter dog. In 37 years of marriage my wife and I have had beaucoup dogs and all have been strays or shelter dogs. They are the greatest and need the love.
Everybody knows I'm a little
Everybody knows I'm a little biased here but if you're gonna get a dog, why not get a dawg? The White House has all that fenced-in real estate and plenty of Secret Service folks to give him a lot of exercise. He might be a problem in the rose garden, though.
But wait, I know where they can get a bargain on these born December 22.
Of course we'll need some allergy medication.

My suggestion
Screw house dogs, I say Obama should go a step up in the canine family, and get a wolf.

As long as he doesn't carry it on and off the helicopter, I don't care.
Obama says, "It'll probably
Obama says, "It'll probably either be a "Labradoodle" or a "Portuguese Water Hound,"...
Apparently both have low allergy coats.
