A must read..Bean on Cas Walker in this week's
Metro Pulse cover story.
When I read about Bobby Toole first name that
pops into my mind was the Mayor of Beaumont....
the late Daryl Miller.

I love the way the story is
I love the way the story is structured around Cas's funeral procession. It suggests that Cas's death signified the death of part of Knoxville, for both better and worse. It's classic Betty Bean.

Thanks Betty,
I for one needed that.

What a great tale -and set up so well.
Am I dreaming or weren't there tales floating around Knoxville after Cas died that he really wasn't dead but was being hidden in a nursing home? Anyone remember?

Check out this crazy picture
Check out this crazy picture of Cas at Highlander with famed civil rights lawyer Bill Kuntsler. I cannot believe my eyes, and would love to know the back story to this one.

Boy, so would I. NOT the
Boy, so would I. NOT the company I would have expected to see Cas in.
BTW, Bean, I meant to tell you when we talked on the phone the other day how much I ejoyed the MP piece.
Cas
I loved the story and being from here I can relate! I drove by Mynatt's the day of his funeral and saw the crowd.
You don't have to be from Knoxville to love this story
I started the article from my perspective as a non-Knox native who has never given a shit about Cas Walker or his legend. But I could not stop reading. On its own, it is a great story and one of the best I've ever read in the Metro Pulse.
Bean
Just got back from Morristown for my sister's 50th birthday party.
We lived in Fountain City & she was born @ St Marys.Dad owned a store called The Economy Shop on Central.
Took about 15 of this weeks Metro Pulse with me.
Your story on Cas was a big hit. There was a Cas Walker
store in Morristown.
Me & Mike Fishman, editor of the Morristown Tribune & son of Jack
belted out:
Thumpin good..Thumpin good..Cas Walker's melons are thumpin good.
Write THAT BOOK!!!!
Book or movie?
Cas Walker's antics deserve a book and a film.
