winning quote

From Betty Bean's column, "Meanwhile, public relations guy Mike Cohen didn’t like the way things appeared to be headed but said he was acting on his own in his efforts to find a way to block McMillan from being named chair. His basic argument is that Knox County will be less likely to find suitable candidates for McIntyre’s replacement with McMillan at the helm."

Mike Cohen and Laurens Tullock care about the children. They really care. They're out there protecting the children. On their own. Because they care. So much.

Let's just lynch Mike McMillan, for the children. We've done so well with this current Broad Academy Superintendent, we need another one. For the kids.

Coming soon -- Sunday night

As soon as I figure out (or someone tells me) how to do it, I'm going to resume posting our columnists on Sunday night. They're all in and there's no reason not to.

Well, there's the issue of scooping ourselves. We had 2 major scoops this week -- both in Victor's column. One was the governor's visit to Kabul. When Victor called Haslam's press office to get more details, somebody told him he couldn't run the story because they hadn't released it. Gosh, we never got that memo about waiting for press releases!

Also, Victor (they don't call him Bulldog for nothing) got the severance package for Mark Donaldson at MPC ($101,000 plus) and the sneaky way it was approved (an amendment to the consent agenda???? Really!)

Sigh

The South Knoxville edition is the old format and very difficult to read. Hope that's in the future plans.

Issuu

Don't really know what to do about this. Issuu has 100s of magazines and newspapers in this format. Advice, anyone?
