AP: "GOP in tatters" (Don't tell Tennessee!)

Some interesting headlines...

AP/Yahoo: GOP in tatters, looks to regroup

WASHINGTON – So much for a lasting Republican majority.
The Republican Party is essentially in tatters, and not that long after George W. Bush's 2000 election spurred talk of enduring GOP dominance.

John McCain's shellacking and Tuesday's congressional losses leaves the party searching for a new leader and identity.

This is how bad it is:

AP/Yahoo: Can Palin resurrect the GOP? Does she want to?

...Ever since her selection as John McCain's running mate in late August, Palin, the 44-year-old Alaska governor, was the star of the GOP ticket, though views of her vary wildly across the political spectrum. With the Republican brand corroded and the hunt on for the next Ronald Reagan, Palin could be one of many people competing to influence Republican ideas in the post-Bush era, maybe even as the party's leader.

...Grover Norquist, a leading conservative and president of Americans for Tax Reform, called Palin "one of five or six people who is a plausible candidate for president in 2012..."

It's a sad day for the Republican party that there's even any serious speculation about Sarah Palin as a player on the national stage. But don't tell that to Tennessee. She's the prototypical Tennessee candidate. Actually, a notch above.

I think ongoing revelations,

I think ongoing revelations, including those provided by Fox News, are blowing a hole in the beauty queen's hull.

I'd love to see her make a GOP run, but don't see it happening. Look for the party powers ($$) to wrest control from the Joe The Plumber wing.

I'd rather be cycling.

The GOP 2012 Dream Ticket (for Democrats)

I'd love to see her make a GOP run

Three words:
Palin/Quayle 2012

The slogans:

  1. "Back to the Change Again"
  2. "Between the Two Of Us, We're Almost as Smart as Barr Barak Obaa Obbamma... How Do You Spell His Name Again?"
It truly is a shame the GOP

It truly is a shame the GOP is more concerned about protecting small business owners than welfare recipients, protecting law-abiding gun owners than the rights of violent criminals, supports individual rights over identity politics, supports religious liberty over radical secularism and won't worship the most lord messiah, Chairman Obamao I mean Osama er, I mean Obambi er well you know that Barackula guy.

Why do you have such little

Why do you have such little respect for the office of the President?

"...supports religious liberty..."

And weren't you the guys waving your arms and screaming "Muslim?"

(Oh...except for one of your folks in my cousin's office, who was waving his arms and screaming "muslin;" my cousin replied that she found nothing lacking in Obama's moral fiber :-)
