I see Stacey Campfield is once again running unopposed. I always write myself in but shouldn't we have an organized effort to write a single name. That person won't win but it wouldn't it be interesting to see them on the news?

So what's the name? Randy Neal? Prince Mongo?

Who do we write-in instead of voting for Stacey Campfield?

My default is always county

My default is always county democratic party chair. So his/her name is?

Y'all should write in Cas

Y'all should write in Cas Walker!

Sylvia Woods is the Knox Dem Chair.

R. Neal doesn't live in the district, and if elected would not serve!

(I think write-ins have to be qualified by a petition prior to the election or they are aren't even counted or reported.)

I wrote David Keith. He

I wrote David Keith. He lives in the district and has an Obama sticker on his car.

It troubles me to see

It troubles me to see candidates run unopposed. Do people feel the other candidate is so well rooted that they could not afford to beat them? Are people that disenchanted with the political system?

Yes

Doug,

I do believe that people are disenchanted with the political system. Incumbants have such an advantage that it is hard for an average Jane or Joe to run and get donors for their campaigns. A real leader knows when they should move on and give someone else a chance, but our elected officials do not want to give up their "glorified jobs."

Watch the 20/20 special that aired on 17th. It is on the ABC website, under 20/20. It is broken into segments. One segments talks about campaign finance laws.

Yes. Happens all the time in

Yes. Happens all the time in Blount County. Not just because the incumbent is so well rooted, it's because the Republican party is so well rooted.

Already voted

I wrote my name in. I wish someone qualified would put their name in - even if they didn't campaign or raise any money. There should NEVER be anyone who runs unopposed.
