Holy Moses! I note that a few of these sites have moved North Dakota into the toss-up or "weak" Democrat ledger. Let me repeat that-- NORTH. DAKOTA.

Minnesota (which presented more than 60% of its popular vote to GWB twice) is now listed as tilting to the Democrats. West By God Virginia is a toss-up state and Georgia is considered to be merely "leaning McCain."

And, yet, here in Tennessee...

CNN

I guess CNN is going to ignore their own polling and freeze Obama at "264" on their EV map calculator until election day to keep viewers thinking it's still close. What does it take to move a state into the "leaning Obama" category? CNN's own polls out today have Obama +10 in VA, +5 in FL, and +4 in CO, yet they're still tossups.

freeze Obama at "264" Yes, I

freeze Obama at "264"

Yes, I noticed that, too. MSNBC is doing pretty much the same thing. The Fox News map is so laughable I didn't include it. (It still has Pennsylvania for McCain.)

I'm a bit surprised Obama is

I'm a bit surprised Obama is still going full steam ahead in both Florida and Ohio. I guess they have plenty of money. I thought they might focus on the more promising one and shift resources to a few of the smaller battleground states that Bush won in 2004 (e.g., Iowa, NV, CO, VA). They just need Kerry states plus a couple of those to win.

Fortunately, McCain is an even bigger gambler. Why he keeps throwing time and money at PA is beyond me. He should be allocating his resources to simply hold Bush 2004 states--that's his best strategy.

I'd rather be cycling.

A phrase springs to mind

An internal investigation by the popular online market Intrade has revealed that an investor has been attempting to artificially boost the prediction that Sen. John McCain will become president.

The words "wacky scheme" come to my mind.

(Note that I have long believed that life would be better with two things

  1. wacky schemes
  2. production numbers
