Todd Palin subpoenaed in firing probe (adn.com)

The state Senate Judiciary Committee voted 3-2 today to subpoena 13 people -- including the husband of Gov. Sarah Palin -- in an investigation of whether Palin abused her power in trying to get her former brother-in-law fired.

[..]

Voting no were Sens. Lesil McGuire, R-Anchorage, and Gene Therriault, R-North Pole.

Unrelated, but how cool is it (so to speak) to be identified as the Senator from the North Pole?

I'd imagine its not just cool, but downright cold.

Santa should run for that

Santa should run for that seat in the next election. He'd keep things in line up there.

Plus, with the elves, he wouldn't have to worry about getting volunteers to go...do igloos have doors?

I guess I'm mostly shocked

I guess I'm mostly shocked to see the North Pole represented by a Republican. Haven't the right wingers long claimed that God is a Republican and Santa Claus is a Democrat?

Are Santa's elves unionized? Are they registered to vote?

Was Santa Swift-Sleighed in the last election? Did the pictures of him fist-bumping Mrs. Claus cause a right wing North Pole radio ruckus?

Man, my whole world view is shaken.
