District 1 residents, representatives, and countywide candidates:

Political Knoxville, in conjunction with the Historic Fort Sanders Homeowners Association, is announcing a Candidate Forum to be held on July 17, 2008 at 7:00 P.M., located at the Church of the Redeemer building on the corner of 17th Street and Highland Avenue in the Fort Sanders District.

The public is encouraged to come out and meet the three candidates who seek to represent District 1, Seat A on the Knox County Commission - Democratic nominee Samuel McKenzie, Republican nominee Albert Baah, and independent write-in candidate John Spellings.

Discussion packages will be available at the meeting that will give attendees more information about their candidates, including biographical info as well as answers to past questionnaires and pledges. Candidates will also be fielding questions from the audience, as well as answering forum questions regarding pressing issues in District 1.
