Thanks Steve

This was the first I've heard of it.

Pass the word around!

I put a reminder in my direct mailing that hit mailboxes late last week, I hope that helps.

Great debate

The event was not well attended (and was not well publicized). That's too bad because the candidates were well-prepared and engaging.

Best lines -- (from memory)

Finbarr Saunders said we're paying $16 million to collect $22 million in fees in the fee offices. I've got to research this, but if that's correct, that's DAMTASTIC.

Finbarr and Ruthie Kulhman disagreed on a few items with Ruthie taking a more traditional approach and Finbarr really stepping outside the box. Electing Finbarr could be like putting John Schmid back on the County Commission.

Ed Shouse said until his son, Joe, started elementary school the only thing he got from county government was the library. Ed and Ruthie will go down swinging to hang onto the small libraries, especially the one in the heart of Sequoyah Hills. Finbarr, on the other hand, said maybe it's time to look at multi-functional uses for branch libraries. Last time I checked, Knox County had more branch libraries per capita than anywhere in America.

Drevik was articulate, advocating some good reforms.

All-in-all it was a good debate, about one hour. Wish more folks had come. -- s.
