Interim County Commissioner Daniels suggests that the Development Corporation, with $11M in the bank (and that gave us the Midway Business park and its related scandal), doesn't need $900,000 of taxpayer dollars out of the community grant budget. Mike Edwards says DC would cease to exist without the taxpayer funding.

The correct name is the Development Corporation.

Commissioner Daniels has a good idea.

All the More Reason to Kill this Entity

Way, way too much money flowing to the same old folks time and time again of the "Development Corporation" which does nothing but buy up land that well connected developers have obtained options on. The sooner we get rid of these "public/private" partnerships, the sooner our local government can get back to its basic missions, educating our children and providing law enforcement for a civilized society.

In my opinion, the sooner we get shed of Mike Edwards and his $250,000 salary, perks, benefits, cars, 401ks and disassemble the SuperChamber and that absured payroll (with absolutely zero results for the milions we spend), the better off we will all be.

That's it in a nutshell

Rigsby you're exactly right. It's time that KDC is exposed for what it really is: Subsidies for the rich. They are using OUR resources to line their pockets. It's time for true accountability.

Good Ole Boys

The GOB network is alive and well in The Development Corporation. They all work together to keep themselves in power and to keep the government money flowing into private hands.

I think it is time for this 1950's era "economic development" farce to be dissolved and our resources put to work in more effective ways.

Put it out to bid?

Surely somebody else can offer the same "services" for less than $900K?

Competition, baby.
