Ragsdale IdleAire investment under fed microscope

WBIR.com:

The Federal Highway Administration has now passed on questions about Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale's purchase of IdleAire stock to [the Office of the Inspector General].

Ragsdale purchased the stock during the same month he signed a contract to pass federal funds on to the company.

Is losing your ass on an investment a mitigating circumstance?

Wonder what other "inside" liberties he took?

Any indication that he purchased ownership in any of the business to be located in the new Blount County Industrial Park, which was built with $5 million from our hard earned Knox County tax dollars.

Were there any kickbacks or other financial accomodations made to Ragsdale for his efforts is locating $5 million of our money in Blount County?

They'll need to take a hard look at everything he's done in office from an investment/expenditure standpoint to see if they followed the time lines of when Knox County taxpayers provided these businesses with cash and financial incentives, that benefited none of the taxpayers who funded the incentives.

In my opinion Ragsdale cannot be trusted to do the right thing (ever) and he surrepticiously tries to always better himself, his financial standing, his socio-economic status on the funds of the Knox County taxpayers.

This guy has got to go.

Hmmm

Loose use of the word "purchase?" -- s.

Just check the divorce case pending downtown

Under oath, although only in signing written responses, Ragsdale will have to fess up to any holdings/ownership/options/equity on any property which was acquired during the marriage to Mrs. Ragsdale.

He'll have to be painfully honest as you really don't want to go secreting assess from your soon to be ex-wife in a divorce case, particularly when you're getting hammered for inappropriate marital conduct.

Maybe the feds will stretch their nets out to former employees of Suite 615 and take a lap through their holdings as well since they would have known of these happenings and the opportunity to possibly turn a fast buck.

No.
