Here's some great news on the local media front. A new alternative bi-weekly paper, Knoxville Voice, launched today. This is something Knoxville has sorely needed for a long time.

The masthead boasts a pretty impressive list of writers, editors, and contributors, including Joe Tarr and JFM formerly of that other "alternative" weekly.

Publisher Dane Baker says that the (free) print edition is available at 170 locations around town today. A full list of locations will be posted on the knoxvoice.com website as soon as it's available.

Congratulations to Knoxville Voice on their launch, and best of luck to everyone involved!

Bravo. The publisher is listed on the Masthead. What a unique concept. I wonder if they will have a blog to discuss the articles?

The more "voices" we have coming from East Tennessee, the better. But, since I'm in Texas, I doubt I'll be able to get a print copy anytime soon. Do these guys plan on having an RSS feed? I mean, it is the 21st century. ;-)
