New Clinton supporter is a potent symbol:
"It's an incredibly strong endorsement because Easley is popular among the blue collar 'Bubba' voters who are Democrats," said David "Mudcat" Saunders, a Democratic consultant who advised former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards and former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner on winning rural voters.
OK, then.

It ain't over till...
I don't think the fat lady is here yet. Isaih Wright is drawing fire like a turkey the week before Thanksgiving; Clinton is pulling in money and endorsements. Mo' may have just shifted.
EDIT and UPDATE:
First off, I don't know what idiot got access to my keyboard and made the keys that should spell Jeremiah misspell Isaiah.
Second, a tiny inch and a quarter blurb on the back page of my paper says that, according to the AP, House Republicans think Clinton is more of a threat to beat Sidney than Obama. Do they or is this "Please don't throw me in the brier patch"?
I'm sure Hillary Clinton
I'm sure Hillary Clinton appreciate's Mudcat's analysis. Not.
Hmmm, Easley getting out in front of the White Southern Male Moderate Democrat Governor for Vice President race? Could be.
The Wright story sure has legs. He's not helping Obama much. He seems, uh, bitter about being kicked to the curb.
Is that why he clings to
Is that why he clings to religion?
Not asking, just observing.
Not asking, just observing. Wright it milking this for all its worth. It's very unbecoming and not helping Obama.
I haven't heard the evidence that Clinton started it. I thought it was Drudge, or Fox, or both? At any rate, Obama did attend the church. Obama did reference the church and its pastor in his book. Obama did have a close personal relationship with the guy for twenty years. Wright did work on Obama's campaign. So it's not like anybody is making stuff up, other than suggesting Obama shares Wrights more radical beliefs when we don't really know if he does or if he doesn't.
Obama is doing the best he can to mitigate it, I guess, but Wright isn't helping him.
When?
When did Bubba in NC become a lobbyist? :-)
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."

"Coulter-free" content
HuffPo is spinning (or reporting) that a Hillary supporter is behind the Press Club speech by Wright.
Obama may need some old style Chicago Politics...
The Rev. Wright is singlehandedly doing what Clinton, her allies, and her millions couldn't - torpedo the Obama presidential bid. Somebody inside the Obama camp needs to find a way to put a gag on Wright and fast. Back in the day of the elder Mayor Daley, a few genltemen sharing a middle name "the" would make a late night visit, say a very few words in a low tone, and this would all go away.
POLLs
does anyone have any fresh pollnumbers in North carolina?
Back in the day of the elder
Yeah, according to "many" (including the late Falwell and Hillary's new BFF Richard Mellon Scaife), Bill Clinton took care of his opponents in Arkansas the same way. Dead bodies were showing up eveywhere the Clintons had been, or so they said.
They're wrong. He took care
They're wrong.
He took care of his enemies in Arkansas by making deals with them. As in, I'll do this for you, if you'll get off my back. It worked lots of times, but not with one leader of the state Senate. But that's a story for another time and place.

Wright
I agree with alot of what Wright says about the country but he crosses the line into looney sometimes, not that right -wing preachers don't. I heard really nasty clips from the NAACP event where he was trashing JFK. He seems set to hurt Obama or he would have been quiet these last few days.
I wasn't trying to suggest
I wasn't trying to suggest those scurrilous stories were true in the slightest way, Pam. Only on who they reflect (the right and, yes, Hillary in her willingness to pander to Scaife).
Sorry I didn't make it obvious.
