WATE:

This spring, crews are replacing all 14 of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park's entrance signs with new ones.

The report doesn't say if they will be digital LED signs.

The report also says Enola Contracting of Chipley, Florida was contracted to install the signs. There aren't any companies in Tennessee or North Carolina qualified to install signs?

They went up in the Gatlinburg area late last week when this pic was taken. The designation of "International Biosphere Reserve" was on the old signs. That designation drove the wingers crazy.

And a handsome sign it is.

And a handsome sign it is. Too bad about the biosphere designation. Maybe it no longer applies to the GSMNP? Or Earth?

I'm just disappointed there's no flashing digital LED promoting Monster Golf Laster Tag in Pigeon Forge. It would be good for business, you know, in keeping with the Bush administration's goal to commercialize our national parks for fun and profit.

I'd rather be cycling.

One sign fits all...some what

How many millions could be saved if every National Park in the country had the very same sign? All they need is a two foot square sign that reads...

You're

The lesser used variation for the GSM in Blount County would read...

Redlight revenue to Texas,

Redlight revenue to Texas, signage to Florida, multimillion dollar developments at Pellissippi and Northshore as well as I-40 at exit 407 to South Carolina. Do we keep anything in Tennessee? Oh yes! Mountain removal! That's right.

We pick up the check on infrastructure costs. Plus a bonus of new traffic congestion.

All hail, U.N. overlords!

That designation drove the wingers crazy.

It sure did. Proof that the enviro-pinky bureaucrats who really control our country secretly ceded authority to the U.N., or something like that.

Maybe one of our resident wingers could elaborate.
