After submitting my "thank you", this is what I get back from Mr. Lail:

Funny, that's not what the General Manager/Interactive Media for Scripps was quoted as saying at Micheal Silence's blog.
"Some of our newspaper sites still have full registration, some temporarily have none (like Knoxville) and some allow anywhere from 2-8 views per month without someone being registered."
