Breaking News: Mark Penn out as Clinton chief strategist

In a simple, short and not-so sweet message, Hillary Clinton's campaign announced minutes ago that Mark Penn was out as her chief political strategist.

Good riddance.

UPDATE: The AP report.

He Learned Everything He Knows from Bill/Hillary

It's really going to be hard for Hillary to connect with the common folk of the Democratic Party when she's bankrolled $100 million from the same cronies who've bankrolled Bill and Hillary all their lives.

Obama's fortune pales in comparison to the Clinton's trove of treasurers from less than traditional sources, but his connection with the hard working rank and file troops of the state and national democratic party is light years ahead of any thing Hillary could spin up.

Hillary is nearing the end and her continued pursuit of the Democratic nomination simply further erodes the value of the Clintons to the Democratic Party and will eventually allow some upstarts in New York to knock her out of her seat as a Senator from New York.

Couldn't happen to a nicer witch that Hillary.

Problem is....

Hillary had a chance to make herself look somewhat human by firing him but she didn't. He left, but she did nothing.

Yet another example of the inaction and lack of courage we could expect of her if she became president.

I'm curious to which candidate the conservative right wing Southern Baptists will endorse! Will they stick with the republican party and vote for McCain who has direct ties to Budweiser. Last I'd heard, alcohol is still taboo in the Southern Baptist churches! Or do they switch parties and vote for an evil Democrat? This scenario seems to put them in a pickle.

Ya'rent from 'round here, is you?

There's an old joke here about when you go fishing, make sure to take two Southern Baptists with you. If you take just one, he'll drink all your beer, if you take two, your beer is safe.

Being a pawn of Budweiser (or a pawn of any corporate interest) isn't going to be an issue for McCain in the south.

If anything... it will

If anything... it will increase his votes in the south. There will be Bubba's falling out of their tree stands to vote for McCain (Sorry Randy, didn't mean to be disrespectful).

Now if they really wanted to secure a win for McCain, they could put voting booths at the Nascar tracks.

I hardly think that Budweiser qualifies as beer ...

Happy to See Him Go

We don't need lobbyists running our politics, especially union busting lobbyists running Dem campaigns. This has always been a thorn for me about her campaign.

McCain's campaign is run entirely by lobbyists! Mr. Maverick, Mr. Reformer, letting them in the back door.

Speculating on the reason...

Wow. Now this is what the good ol' US of A has been clamoring for; an Olympic boycott (of the opening ceremony - not too tough Hil). Of all the issues that face us as a country, this is one that should obviously be at the forefront. What a joke.

I find it impossible to believe that even Clinton supporters don't get tired of this crap. Obviously Penn was embarrassed by this move.

Last time I checked there were a lot of Southern Baptists voting for good ole ('give me a Nilla wafer and a cup 'o coffee') Ned Ray McWherter, who of course is a very wealthy man. Why? He's the Bud man of West Tennessee.
