We're catching up on our reading. You sure can go through some pulp fiction with the TV turned off!

A partial list: Eleanor vs. Ike (Gerber), Double Whammy (Hiaasen), The curious incident of the dog in the night-time (Haddon), I Am Charlotte Simmons (Wolfe), Innocent Man (Grisham, non-fiction), Thunderbolt Kid (Bryson), The Summons (Grisham), Playing for Pizza (Grisham), A Confederacy of Dunces (Toole), Then We Came to the End (Ferris).

We're about ready for another trip to the book store. What's on your summer/beach reading list?

Looks like you're buying

Looks like you're buying paperbacks, but new short stories tomorrow in hardback:

The View from the Seventh Layer, Brockmeier

If you're not up to Hardback try his paperback stuff:

The Brief History of the Dead
The Truth About Celia
Things Fall from the Sky

Some other things:
Somehow Form a Family - Tony Earley
Clay's Quilt - Silas House
anything by Donald Harrington
Thisbe Nissen (in addition to having a great name, she's an excellent writer)
The Wonder Boys -- or anything else by Michael Chabon
Into the Wild -- the one that the movie is based on

You need "Speed of Dark" to balance out "Curious Incident".

Just finished...

"Suttree" by McCarthy.

Next up is "7th Heaven" by Patterson.

Then a couple of vampire novels by Laurell K. Hamilton, if they arrive in the mail soon. My reading tastes are all over the place.

McCarthy

I intend to read Cormac McCarthy's Border Trilogy, as well as some of the earlier works referencing East Tennessee.

Of interest

Just finished "Harvest" by Catherine Landis, a Knoxville author. The novel's setting is Union County and the surrounding area. Beautiful writing.
