I saw at the link that the Washington Post says the Republican Congressional Committee spent a bunch of their cash on this one race for nothing, and that it might result in a wave of resignations from Congress as Republicans see the handwriting on the wall.

Spending

The NRCC spent something like 20% of their resources on this race. Wow, big loss for them. I'm sad for them. I enjoy being sad for them. The sadder I am for them and Repubs in general, the happier I am for Dems and the whole outlook for the '08 elections.
