Las Vegas police said that firearms, an "anarchist-type textbook" and castor beans, from which ricin is made, were found in the room where the poison was discovered. The book was tabbed at a spot containing information about ricin.Fuhrman said investigators were still trying to figure out why Von Bergendorff would have ricin but said there was no indication of any terrorist activity.
OK, then.

Wouldn't that be fun to see at your neighbors house?
who sane?
but said there was no indication of any terrorist activity
Have they checked his middle name?
It got a headline - so it worked
There was an indication of terrorist activity. It was the headline. Like "Dirty Bomber Caught", although Padilla wasn't convicted of a dirty bomb. Or it was like the masterminds of the "Miami Seven" who were going to attack the Sears Tower - that turned out not to be so masterminded. Or it was like the pizza guys in Jersey that planned an attack on a military base who turned out to have downloaded google maps.
The headline works just like taking off your shoes at the airport, or the mantra "they'll follow us home", or driving to the airport and seeing "Threat Level Orange" in big red letters, or the use of the word "Alert" anytime FAUX News shows a car chase, etc. etc. All of it is a reminder not to bitch about giving up your civil liberties.
Is this guy a terrorist looking to take out a major city - or is he a wack job in a nation full of them? Is this a news story worthy of national attention or a local story and a matter for Vegas police? We do have national and foreign idiots in our borders that wish to do us harm. None can do nearly the harm propaganda can.
I guess there's not a Republican running in that district...
or it would have been terror and George's Bush's successor John McCain must be elected to protect us....
Probably someone out to commit a murder...
