Catherine Quist, Knox County Circuit, Civil Sessions and Juvenile Court clerk, gave at least one employee most of today off with pay so she could campaign at the polls for 4th District Commission hopeful Lee Tramel, a worker in the office said.

She didn't help Trammell at all, but she just might have ended her own political career with that stunt. Why? Why would you stick you neck out and get involved in the county mess when you were so safely out of it up until then. Any ideas what drove this stupid move on her part?

I feel sorry for that employee, because I think she really just had no idea. I'm amazed her employer didn't fill her in, though. Assuming any of this is not easily explainable, as I suspect it isn't.
