Stuff like this.

Why couldn't she just have said "I'll support whoever the Democratic nominee is and I am completely confident that will be my husband"?

Why doesn't it bother me?

I dunno, maybe because that's the line of bullshit people expect to hear, and I'm tired of the script, and of being expected to hold people to it? I admit I'm voting for Obama, though I'll support Hillary Clinton if she is the nominee in November. But I don't mind a little slip in correct protocol for first ladies in possible waiting. And before you jump on the inexperience meme, just let me remind you Hillary got lampooned for exactly the same type of annoying, cheeky upstart comments back in 1992. I remember.

Yeah, that bothered me

Yeah, that bothered me too.

I think this bothered me more coming on the heels of Obama saying something recently like "I know her (Clinton's) voters will vote for me; the question is will my voters vote for her."

I am so focused on NOT electing another Republican that I guess I want the Democrats to sing Kumbayah before it's reasonable for them to do so.

There's a tad more to it...

TPM Election Central tried to stir up this fake controversy too, but at least they showed her full response (here) where she goes on to say "Everyone in this party is going to work hard for whoever the nominee is."

Pretty funny comments over there on Talk Left though. After ranting about the Obama Cult any time someone tried to point out the mischaracterization of Michelle's actual words, Big Tent Democrat (the blog post author) eventually removed the quotation marks that were put around the fabricated "quote" in the headline, yet still went on to defend it, banning or threatening to ban people for pointing out the distortion, and eventually closing the thread... for the WIN!

The question was if she

The question was if she could see herself working to get Hillary elected. It wasn't on if she would support her. Also, there is the fact that the first link was a partial quote and not the entire quote. Bad journalism.

Yeah, I know what you mean about singing kumbayah. I'm ready for it, but considering that the election is a full nine months from now, maybe it's too soon.

We need to have those six week campaigns like they do in other countries.

Yes

You are wrong to let this bother you. The sooner Democrats can get it through their heads that everyone has a right to choose who they will support, the sooner they can stop being an ineffective foil to the status quo and start being an actual force for good.

Given the past seven years, the only people with less right to be bothered by criticism than Hillary supporters are Republicans. Republicans have the good sense to be silent right now and hope everyone forgets they are there, and the Democrat power structure might want to follow suit. Maybe both parties can whimper themselves into a vanishing poof of tribal outrage and leave the country to be run by the sane.

You're not wrong

You're not wrong unless her husband were actually independent or a gadfly within the Party, in my opinion. On the contrary, he's a Democrat with a voting record comparable to his Democratic opponent, and he is part of the Party establishment with support from some very influential members of the Party.

I don't think we need to

I don't think we need to sing Kumbayah. I do think it is okay to be bothered by her statement. It's no more a fake controversy than anything else during this election. No need for hands off of Michelle Obama. She wants to play the game, then she needs to make sure she has on enough padding.

I certainly think she said she would have trouble campaigning for Hillary Clinton if Hillary won the nomination. I guess she didn't get the message her husband is trying to bring the people together.

Will she support, at least starting out, whoever becomes the President of the United States?

The questions are stupid. If she doesn't want controversy, she needs to learn when to do a jump fake and move in the other direction.

Having said that. It's a good thing the R never wanted to be a political leader. I'd have to be muzzled to not say something inappropriate or controversial.
