Hillary was put in charge of crafting a national healthcare plan in her husband's first administration. She failed completely and never pursued it further through his second term. Why is it now a priority for her when it wasn't then, and why should anyone believe she can succeed now when she failed so miserably then?
And have we forgotten Bill looking us in the eye through the TV screen and lying to us all: "I did not have sex with that woman?" Why should we now trust or believe him?

Also, her proposal never was debated and it didn't fail on its merits (or lack thereof).
It failed because the GOP and corporate lobbies rode it down on a rail with a massive PR effort with bogus side claims like "It would create too many new federal bureaucracies." Later, Dept. of Homeland Security sailed through the GOP congress without debate and exceeded the scope of her plan by any measure, and it's questionable whether we've gained ANY new security because if it.
